Isabelle Yamamoto
Yamamoto’s creations are imbued with meaning, crafted to respect and protect the environment in today's world.
Above all, Isabelle Yamamoto is passionate about interior design and naturally curious. She enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and connecting with skilled craftsmen and individuals. This curiosity and love for discovery are genuinely part of her DNA. A perfectionist with a keen eye for detail, Yamamoto excels at creating cohesive and harmonious spaces. She also has a deep appreciation for playing with materials and structures, and enjoys sharing her love for aesthetics to transform living spaces into warm, cozy retreats.
Yamamoto’s creations are imbued with meaning, crafted to respect and protect the environment in today’s world. She is also spontaneously inspired by the culture and art of living of her Japanese husband, an influence that is evident in her work.
Yamamoto seeks to pay tribute to the work of human hands, regardless of origin. In a world marked by overconsumption, she aims to demonstrate that with little, we can create and elevate — embodying the philosophy of “Less is more,” as Mies van der Rohe once said.
Working exclusively with natural fibers, including hemp, linen, Nepalese nettle, ramie, alpaca, mohair, and yak wool, she selects materials based on what can be sourced. Nature, with its colors, harmony, and serenity, is a constant source of inspiration. All of her creations are handmade and produced in Belgium.
Yamamoto’s passion for materials, textures, and her meticulous eye for detail brings a warm, inviting ambiance to House Sur, transforming it into a cohesive refuge where crafted elements enrich the overall atmosphere
